Girls going to school

Giving

Every clean home helps a child go to school.

At The CleanMatch, we believe that doing good business and doing good in the world aren't separate things. So we've made giving back a permanent part of how we operate — not a one-off campaign, not a PR exercise, just something we do because it matters. That's why we support Plan International UK's Sponsor a Child programme.

Plan International UK has been advancing children's rights and equality for girls for over 85 years. Their Sponsor a Child programme connects communities in some of the world's poorest countries with the support they need to give children access to education, clean water, healthcare, and a future worth looking forward to.

Through sponsorship, communities are supported to protect and empower children and champion girls' rights — combining Plan International's expertise with local knowledge to find long-lasting solutions together. When you sponsor a child, your donations are added to those from other sponsors, so together you achieve things you couldn't on your own — like building a school or digging a well.

What We Commit To We donate 5% of our annual profits to Plan International UK's Sponsor a Child programme every year. We chose 5% deliberately. Best practice for responsible businesses is a minimum of 1% of pre-tax profits — and as your business grows, so should the amount donated. We wanted to go further than the minimum from day one. In practical terms, this means that for every member of our platform, a portion of what we earn goes directly towards helping a child access education, healthcare, and a safe future.

Why Education? Why Plan International? We spent a lot of time thinking about which organisation to support. The CleanMatch exists because we believe everyone deserves access to reliable, professional work and a fair deal. That belief doesn't stop at our own platform. Millions of children around the world are denied the most basic of fair deals — the chance to go to school. Girls in particular face enormous barriers: poverty, inequality, child marriage, and a lack of basic resources that most of us take entirely for granted. Plan International works directly with communities — not for them — to create change that lasts long after the programme ends. That approach resonated with us. It's the same philosophy we apply to The CleanMatch: sustainable, community-driven, and built to last.

The Impact of Your Bookings Sponsoring a child costs £19.50 per month — just 65p a day. This can help a child access education, clean water, healthcare, and a childhood free from dangerous work. Every time you book a clean through The CleanMatch, you're contributing to that. A tidy kitchen. A spotless bathroom. A child in a classroom. We think that's a pretty good chain of events.

Transparency We publish our annual giving total on this page every year. We want you to know exactly how much has been donated, and we'll share updates from Plan International about the communities your bookings are helping to support. We also handle our giving as a formal business donation through our Ltd company accounts — which means it's tax-efficient, properly recorded, and independently verifiable. No vague promises. No rounding errors. Just a real commitment, in writing, every year.
